In New York, Daniel, a sensitive preteen, suffers in silence due to his parent’s separation. The mother, now in love with a foreigner, plans a vacation to an ecological hotel in Colombia, where she pretends to reveal her son that she’s pregnant. But Daniel gets lost in the lush vegetation of the Sierra Nevada, the heart of the world according to the indigenous beliefs. The mother, her partner and the father, must confront their discrepancies and lead a desperate search.

Daniel is driven into the mysterious adventure of discovering the secret of water and saving the heart of the world. Along with Hisanna, an indigenous girl, and Federico, a funny miner boy, Daniel understands that not everything in life is black or white.

From the financial heart to the world´s deepest heart, Daniel´s struggle to return alive will force him to soften his own heart and rediscover himself; forgive and accept his family, and learn to appreciate the simplest things in life.
